It happened again this morning. I was out
walking the hounds on the country road that meanders its way up and down the
bluff when I heard it: The cock that crows at 11:00 a.m. I thought that
roosters were supposed to "crow" at dawn. Not this one. I often hear
it at 4 o'clock in the afternoon as its voice reverberates up the bluff from a
nearby farm. He's not an early riser. I think this concept would be a fanciful
idea for a children's story book. “The Rooster that Crows at Noon.” It would be
a book about personal health choices regarding sleep. Look for it as a future
publication from Red Barn Blue Sky Publishing & Consulting.
Incidentally, that rooster down the way is the
impetus for our company logo. A red barn set against a blue sky would have just been
way too cliché.
